EXCURSIONS FROM NAIROBI AND MOMBASA

  • From Nairobi

NAIROBI CITY TOUR – Half Day
This tour of the heart of Nairobi will permit you to discover 100 years of history and art of Nairobi City: Colorful City Market, Parliament Building, and Kenyatta Conference Center, along with other places of interest. The last part of the tour is an orientation tour of the Railway Museum, National Museum and the Snake Park.

KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM AND GIRAFFE CENTRE – Half Day
Drive through the residential area of Langata towards the Ngong Hills to Karen Blixen’s home, now a museum. Take a walk through the house and gardens. Thereafter move onto the AFEW Giraffe Centre where you meet the famous “Daisy” Rothschild Giraffe(an endangered species) which roam freely in the grounds of the Giraffe Manor.

THE CARNIVORE GOURMET: 12h30 OR 19h00
Described in the Wall Street Journal as the “Meat Eaters Paradise”, the Carnivore Restaurant is really famous for its succulent steaks and mouthwatering barbecue dishes. The menu includes every type of meat imaginable and local game meat roasted over charcoal. A wide variety of vegetarian dishes are also available.

NYAMA CHOMA RANCH: 19h30 to 23h30
Here, charcoal barbequed meat is prepared in the true African way and your choice of meat will expertly be carved onto your sizzling plate until you say stop. A wide selection of vegetarian dishes, salads and desserts is also available. The fabulous “Safari Park Cats” entertain you as you dine and watch their unique and tantalizing blend of African/Western cabaret.

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK – Half Day
Only a “Lion’s roar” from the city Centre, wildlife in the Nairobi National Park share the city with the human population. A few Black Rhino can be seen, while the main attraction is Cheetah, Lion and Buffalo as well as a great variety of plains game. There is also a large selection of bird life.

  • FROM MOMBASA

Mombasa City Tour
Visit to Fort Jesus (now a National Museum), the Old Harbor where you may see the traditional Arabic Dhows at the docks. The most interesting part of this tour is that tall buildings with ornate intricately carved balconies overshadow the narrow streets and alleyways. The tour also includes visits to mosques and Hindu temples.


Evening Dhow Safari with sound and light Show
Depart in the evening and board a traditional Dhow. Sail down Tudor Creek ending up at Fort Jesus where you can enjoy a sound and light show whilst having your dinner.


Dinner on the Tamarind Dhow
Transfer from the Hotel to the Tamarind Restaurant where you will board the Dhow. Sail down Tudor Creek past Fort Jesus. A wonderful seafood dinner is served on board the dhow whilst a live band entertains you.


Wasini Island – Full Day
Pick up from the hotel in the early morning and drive south to a tiny fishing village not far from the Tanzanian border. A Swahili sailing ship (Dhow), now motorized for flexibility, carries you through an enchanting seascape of islets and reefs to the marvels of the under water world of Kisite. After snorkelling, you are serves a gargantuan seafood lunch on the ancient island of Wasini. If you wish you can visit the Muslim village at Wasini. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
